On Tuesday April 4, the winter 2023 bowling league conducted the end-of-season tournament.
Pittsburgh’s bowling league is unique among other Stonewall leagues in how winning teams are acknowledged. Both the 1st Place League and Tournament Champion get awarded with separate plaques on the perpetual trophy which is soon to have filled its first level. Additionally, the 1st Place League and Tournament Champion get to each designate a charity to split the season-long fundraising efforts of $1550 ($500 more than the last season).
Congratulations to the “Swing Kings” for their 1st Place performance through 8 weeks of league play. They named Persad as their charity designation. Persad Center is the region’s leading behavioral health agency for our LGBTQ+ community.
Congratulations to the “You Can’t Split With Us” team for winning the end of season tournament. They named the Allies Health + Wellbeing as their charity designation. Allies provides integrated medical care, supportive human services, and community-based education for individuals living with, or at risk of HIV, viral hepatitis, and sexually transmitted infections.
On April 11, the league will conduct a special fun, cosmic Friends & Family night with special prizes and giveaways. Registration for the next season of bowling begins the following week.
With each charity receiving $775, the $1550 donation from Stonewall Bowling increases the Stonewall Pittsburgh charity impact in 2023 to $3150 donated.
