Over the course of the month of February 2023, Stonewall Alliance is partnering with the Stonewall Sports Pittsburgh dodgeball and bowling leagues to collect necessities & toiletries for Pittsburgh Mercy’s Operation Safety Net®.
Operation Safety Net is an innovative, award-winning medical and social service outreach program for persons who are experiencing homelessness in Allegheny County.
The items currently in the highest demand are:
- Underwear (briefs, boxers and bras)
- Socks (all sizes)
- Hats and gloves
Though the cause performs work year-round so additional accepted donations include:
- Dental hygiene products (toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, etc.)
- Sanitization and PPE items (face coverings/masks, sanitation wipes, hand sanitizer, gloves)
- Bathing products (shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels, etc.)
- Menstrual products (tampons, reusable pads, disposable pads)
Donations will be collected at the Thelma Lovette YMCA on February 5, 12, 19 and 26 during dodgeball league play or at AMF Noble Manor Lanes on February 7, 14, 21, 28 during bowling league play.
