As kickball returns to play with special health & safety guidelines, the 2021 opening party has its own set of changes planned. The two-part event on Saturday, April 24, will be a part drive-up, part virtual live-stream event to ensure everyone can participate from the comforts of home.
The kickball season officially begins with game play the next day on Sunday, April 25 at Arsenal Park.
Drive-Up Pick-Up
The drive-up pick-up is being hosted at Union Project from 4pm to 7pm. Players will be able to come in, 7 people at a time, to receive their team shirt and kickball gift bag full of special swag. A pre-packaged party meal will be provided as take-out. The menu includes turkey* slider, pasta salad, bag of chips and cookie. (*vegetarian option available).
Guests should expect to encounter temperature screenings at the door. The hope is that each player can take their shirt, swag and food to watch the live stream virtually from a comfortable spot.
Virtual Live-Streamed Party
An evening of special programming will be broadcast live starting at 7:30pm until about 9:45pm. Broadcast links will be made available on the Facebook event page or the Stonewall Sports Pittsburgh Instagram. The evening will include special performances by Anita Lottabuckz, Mother Oak, Jezebel and Queen Enigma.
