On Tuesday April 15, the spring 2025 bowling league conducted the end-of-season tournament to conclude its largest bowling season to date which included an extended schedule to accommodate the 38 teams on only 32 lanes. Over the course of the season, the league raised $3,500 though league fundraising activities. Local charity benefactors are selected by teams honored for their season achievements.
End of Season Tournament Winners: Gutter Gang
The team Gutter Gang, captained by Stephanie Suskey and composed of Jessica Botti, Sofia Vaccarello, Bianca D’Auria, Madeline Whitney and Ty Linhard, named Persad Center the recipient of a $1500 league donation. Persad Center is dedicated to improving the well-being of the LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning) communities and the HIV/AIDS communities in Western Pennsylvania.
1st Place League Team: Bowling For Beers
The team Bowling For Beers, captained by Patrick Palamara and composed of Joshua Beatty, Paul Goodfellow, Jake Pokita, Aaron McKendry and Aaron Lenzi, named Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh the recipient of a $1500 donation. WC&S is a comprehensive domestic violence program annually serving over 7,500 adult and child survivors of domestic violence in the Greater Pittsburgh area, as well as providing psychoeducational and intervention services for those who use abuse.
The final $500 is raised is donated to the Burgh Area Rainbow Bowling Invitation (BARBI) tournament set for its first major event in March 2026.
