Bowling League Seeks Community Feedback Regarding Expansion

2025 marks the tenth year of bowling seasons in Pittsburgh and the path forward looks bright. The league continuously welcomes 200+ bowlers and often reaches registration capacity quickly. If the league wants to be bigger, bolder, and more beautiful, it will require some input from the community of current, past and future bowlers.

After starting in the now-closed Forward Lanes in Squirrel Hill in 2015, the league migrated to Bowlero Pittsburgh (formerly named AMF Noble Manor Lanes) in Greentree where it now hosts three seasons annually. With only so many lanes to go around on a nightly basis, one opportunity for growth is the look at the option of expanding to a second location. Miracle Lanes in Monroeville may is one approach that is currently asking for feedback.

In this scenario, the league would maintain a “central” location at Bowlero in Greentree and add an “east” branch at Miracle Lanes in Monroeville. Format and schedule of both leagues will be the same. Each league would have a “fun” night that allows bowlers from the sibling leagues to unite.

“Having an affirming space for bowling in Monroeville would expand the overall geographical reach of Stonewall Sport Pittsburgh into the eastern communities where dedicated LGBTQ+ spaces aren’t as prevalent” said Bowling Commissioner Brian McCollum.

To make the commitment to expand requires a base level of bowler support and identifying additional leadership to launch a second location. Participation in the survey does not mean a commitment to sign-up for a future season, but will be used to validate viability of moving the vision forward.
